Acceptable Losses Up From the Depths Book 2 eBook JR Jackson
Another great book by J.R. Jackson and this books picks up where book #1 left off. With the Military from "Joint Base Lewis/McChord, Washington State" finishing up getting all the civilians that they had come across rescued, all that's left is now for the rest of General Waller's Staff at Olympia Regional Airport, Olympia, Washington, to get the rest of his men together to leave the area. As Captain O'Toole and his men also come across the young men at the "Castle" (an Olympia Mountain Storage Facility). But a group of Men and their plane from the "5th Bomb Wing A B52-H, from Minot, North Dakota is being loaded with a JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munitions), as their led to believe that they're on a mission to take care of the "individuals that have planned what happened to their Country". What happens next definitely left me REELING, even with the story being fiction, this will draw you in, as if it's real and your seeing it with your own eyes. Mr. Jackson, this is one outstanding book and one I'll be more than glad to recommend to anyone that wants to read one great story.Product details

Acceptable Losses Up From the Depths Book 2 eBook JR Jackson Reviews
I gave book one a 5 star and book 2 only 3 stars. The reason? Book 2 never developed the characters and I wasn't able to embrace them. There are so many characters I was losing track of who was who. I bought book 3 and I'm hoping he starts to bring the different groups together.
First book started a little slow but had me hooked by the second half! Read through 3/4 of the second during a two hour flight, didn't want to put it down, only had to stop because the plane was landing. Can't wait until I get back to finish it and looking forward to number three
I like action/adventure and this book has a lot of it,there is no boring chapters in the book, also the author uses some Military terms, that you don't usually hear any more, brought back old memories, the book was very well written and enoyed the authors previous series of this book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this installment and anxiously awaiting the next one. Good tight writing with realistic dialogue. More than just a run and gun zombie killing extravaganza. Subplots and themes are well developed without detracting from the overall story. Finished this book in one days reading...I just couldn't stay away from it.
A blueprint for surviving the End. Epic and awesome. Mr Jackson knows his stuff when it comes to the ways people should but also would respond to the breakdown of civilisation. The zombies are a menace, but the living humans are far worse.
Favourite characters so far Alias-Mr-Smith and the truly annoying and socially hapless St John.
The best book of this genre I have read. And I have read many. I appreciate not having the narrative broken up with wordy descriptions of weapons and tactics. Usually I have no idea if the area being described is real. I live and work in the area of south Puget Sound and it is portrayed extremely accurately. I was in the Air Force, stationed at Da Nang, where rockets were sent our way on many nights. I have been to the area just north of McCord a few times and thought that would be the area where the VC would attack. And this is the same area where the affected attacked McCord. Yes, there really is a gravel pit there. Thanks Mr. Jackson, I am looking forward to book 3.
This is the second book of the series offered by author J R Jackson. I was engrossed with the plot from the start of the 1st book, and am impressed with the knowledge expressed throughout the story line on a myriad of pertinent topics, from weaponry to survival tactics to military procedures. The author develops a cast of many relevant characters in both books, giving them depth and importance to the plot.
This series is based primarily in Olympia, Washington(My home State), and it is obvious Jackson is not only familiar with the topography of the region, but details that only locals would pick up on. It is difficult for any author to juggle so many characters and maintain a cohesive story line, but Jackson pulls it off without bogging the reader down with unnecessary descriptions or muddying up the plot.
This book is a continuation of an outstanding new series, one I would recommend to anyone looking for a new read in the PA/ZA genre. Kudos, J R Jackson!
